Anomalous Sensors

The AI identifies sensors with persistent issues that may indicate ongoing air quality concerns or device malfunctions

Updated over 2 months ago

Abound building management system uses indoor air quality (IAQ) sensors to maintain a healthy environment. Some sensors, however, report faulty data, often due to malfunctions or low batteries, which leads to inaccurate readings and delayed air quality adjustments. Without automatic detection of these issues, manual troubleshooting is required, risking prolonged poor air quality. Improving this will enhance IAQ reliability, reduce maintenance, and support a healthier indoor space.

The Anomalous Sensors section on the Device Manager page helps you quickly spot spaces or devices with recurring issues, which could have multiple root causes.

Detecting these "anomalous sensors" alerts you to potential scheduling or hardware issues. For example, sensors in spaces with poor climate control may show related alerts, which is a simple scheduling update could resolve. Alternatively, repeated alerts may indicate a malfunction, such as a device failure or low battery, requiring a replacement or new batteries.

No matter the root cause, the Anomalous Sensor feature signals that a specific device needs special attention. Explore this feature, and feel free to reach out with any question.
