What are IAQ thresholds according to WELL?

Updated over a year ago

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) thresholds refer to specific concentration levels or limits set for indoor environments. These thresholds ensure that IAQ meets acceptable standards for human health, comfort, and well-being.

IAQ thresholds are established by regulatory agencies, health organizations, and building standards. In Abound, IAQ thresholds are set according to the WELL Building Standards, which follows guidance from International WELL Building Institute.

The WELL Building Standards is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring IAQ components that focus on various aspects of building design, construction, and operation to create healthier and more comfortable indoor environments for occupants.

Based on the WELL Building Standards, the IAQ thresholds in Abound are:

IAQ components

Thresholds

Temperature

70 to 77° F

Humidity

30 to 60%

Below 750 ppm

Below 87.3 ppb

Below 12 µg/m3

Below 2 pCi/L

Note: These thresholds are set by the International WELL Building Institute and cannot be edited in Abound. Please visit the website for additional information.
